JOBB Second Cohort Pastry Certificate Results Freshly Announced

After weeks of intensive preparation, study, and anticipation, the results of the National Junior Western Pastry Chef Examination for all students of JOBB’s second cohort have finally been released! At the moment of receiving their scores, the students’ long-held anxiety finally gave way to relief and pride.

Just like the very first group of JOBB trainees, the second cohort has also delivered an impressive performance:

  • Five students from Zepu County in Kashgar, Xinjiang successfully passed both the theory and practical exams in one go.

  • Notably, two special students — Xu Xinjia and Gui Yunyang — achieved outstanding results in the theory test, scoring 83.5 and 77 points respectively.

  • Another student, Miao, also demonstrated her strength with a high score of 83 in the theory test, ensuring her smooth passage through the exam.

A Certificate of Substance

The Junior Western Pastry Chef Certificate, accredited by China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, is valid for life and recognized nationwide. It serves as a true “first stepping stone” into the baking industry and a strong credential to prove the professional skills of its holders to future employers.

Within the JOBB vocational empowerment program, this pastry training is woven into a broader curriculum: not only as a supplement to classical French baking instruction — broadening the categories and styles students master — but also as a critical boost for their first steps into a professional career.

Moving Forward

This certificate is more than a piece of paper — it is a reward for countless days and nights of hard work, and a testament to the courage and perseverance of these students who traveled thousands of miles to Shanghai to pursue their studies.

Let us once again congratulate all students of the second cohort: in Shanghai, they have gone from zero to one, learning an entirely new craft and stepping into an unfamiliar industry with remarkable determination. Our heartfelt thanks also go to the entire JOBB project team for their dedication and efforts in making this possible.
