JOBB Participates in Sciences Po Alumni Association’s 150th Anniversary Celebration

Ms. Jiajia Wang, founder of the JOBB Vocational Empowerment Program, completed her undergraduate studies at Fudan University before pursuing further education in France. She later earned a master’s degree from Sciences Po Paris — widely regarded as “the cradle of France’s political and administrative elites.”

After graduation, Ms. Wang devoted herself to education and philanthropy, and jointly launched the “Rui Feng Vocational Empowerment Fund (JOBB)” with the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

On November 18, during the visit of Mr. Luis VASSY, the newly appointed President of Sciences Po, the Sciences Po Alumni Association hosted a distinctive celebration to mark the institution’s 150th anniversary. JOBB was honored to be invited. Members of the project team, together with alumnus Shi Junhao (known as “Xiao Pang") and the third cohort of JOBB trainees, brought freshly baked bread to the event at the French Chamber of Commerce.

The gathering brought together Sciences Po alumni from diverse fields, as well as many partners who share JOBB’s values. For a moment, it felt as though we had returned to the soil from which the spirit of JOBB first took root — a place nurtured by the idea of “souls that are free and unconstrained,” grounded in the ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity.

Telling Our Story Through Bread

To prepare for this special occasion, the third cohort of JOBB trainees baked a variety of breads:

  • Local-leaning creations such as ham & scallion ciabatta and cheese-filled baguettes,

  • Alongside authentic French offerings including tomato-basil ciabatta and rich chocolate tarts.

At JOBB, we believe that when it comes to food — whether baking or cooking — purity, taste, and quality are universal. Even the simplest baguette or a bowl of plain rice, when crafted with sincerity and skill, can speak louder than any words.

We hope to use this most direct and genuine language of food to express JOBB’s commitment to empowering young people with practical skills that help them achieve independence and dignity.

Guidance and Support from the Sciences Po Community

President Luis VASSY offered high praise for JOBB’s mission. After learning about our full-cycle dual-track training model — from skills development to employment support — he expressed strong recognition of JOBB’s approach.

When asked why we chose baking as the entry point for youth empowerment, we explained the strong talent demand in China’s bakery industry and shared the career progress of our graduates. President VASSY encouraged us to draw from successful models to ensure that JOBB can continue to grow sustainably and benefit more young people in the long term.

We were especially moved by the heartfelt support from fellow Sciences Po alumni. Beyond enjoying the flavor of the bread, many offered to help:

  • Some volunteered to connect pastry chefs from their hometowns,

  • Others offered career guidance,

  • Some even expressed interest in supporting future JOBB-operated stores.

This collective trust and encouragement are invaluable — the spiritual nourishment that keeps us moving forward.

Moving Forward with JOBB — JOB the Future!

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Sciences Po Alumni Association for the invitation, and to our fellow alumni who once studied alongside us. Because of you, JOBB is even more certain that vocational empowerment can be a powerful pathway to social inclusion — and that perseverance will carry us far.

May this warmth and sweetness continue to travel even farther and deeper.
Let’s JOB the Future!
